Swedish bitters stimulate receptors in the mouth and throat that are activated by bitter taste. This increases saliva, gastric juice, and bile production all of which contain digestive enzymes that aid in breaking down fats and other food components.
They also help with inflammation and bloating, improve your sugar levels and appetite, and boost your immune systems.
Why is alcohol added to extracts?
An alcohol tincture potency is more potent and more concentrated than a glycerine or water, meaning you can use less of a tincture to get the same results. Alcohol has better preserving properties.
We recommend one tablespoon per cup of herbal tea or warm water. For optimum results drink 30 minutes before or after meals. For well-being drink one cup of tea in the morning and one cup in the evening. If one has pain in the teeth or gums dilute one tablespoon of bitter and gargle. Bitter is not suggested to be taken during pregnancy and during breast feeding.
